Five days of SIGGRAPH was to me the Seijinshiki that I missed. More than just learning about the new technologies, what I felt was more useful was listening to the production sessions and the importance of networking and the fact that there is a larger world beyond the classroom that I have until now competed in. Establishing contacts with people in the same field, or even just making small talk with strangers were learning experiences in themselves.

はい、最終日ということで今日のブログは同行したインターン生のQuek Ying Tongさんからメッセージを頂きました。今年は彼女含めて5人のアルバイターがSIGGRAPHに行ってきましたが、その中の4人はSIGGARAPH初体験(3人は海外初体験)でした。いろいろと大変なこともあったりもしましたが、なかなか良い思い出になったと思います。余談ですがステレオ撮影で会場内をうろついていた自分と綱藤は、英会話に対して(変な方向に)自信がついたような気がします。
SIGGRAPH2009はもう終わりですが、半年後にはSIGGRAPH ASIAさらに半年後には次のSIGGRAPHが待っています。そのときもまたたくさんの思い出ができると思うので、いまから心待ちにしておきます。ではまた。
