I can’t post everything i like in japan or even all the cultural differences i recognize.
That wold be far too much for you to read.But on this post i will introduce you to something im going to miss here in the next 5 months.

There are huge differences between the german and japan eating culture e.g. the amount of meat that the germans eat. But here is something away from the german stereotypes i will focus on.

Im talking about the good old german “Stulle”.More precisely this is a term from the Berlin-area. (There are severeal names for that meal, depending on where you are geographicly in germany.)
It describes a slice of bread loaded with butter (or margarine) and slices of chesse, sausage,tomatoes or even sweets like jam, whatever you like.
Its a classical german food you can eat at every time. Historically it was a poor-peoples food (just the bread with butter) and its eaten out of the hand.
One of the first proofs of the “Stulle” was found in one of Martin Luthers Texts from 1525.
And even if the topping isnt that exotic for you, the bread is, because its the widely spread (in germany) sourdough.

This solid food is still the food that parents put in their kid’s lunchboxes for school since ages and that people in whole germany are eating quite often.

If i can find the ingredients here, you can enjoy this piece of german culture soon.
