How to stop forgetting things

As a young, busy, and sometimes lazy girl, I was always forgetting things.

As writing blogs, though I reminded myself “you should never forget it anymore”, finally I was busy with other things and totally got it out of my head, even several minutes ago I was still reminding myself…

How do you deal with your forgetfulness? This is quite closely related with personal daily life habits. Some people remember things in brain, some choose to write it down and execute. For me, I ever tried these two ways, I found I could not always remember everything, and writing things down is quite troublesome. Actually, I won’t forget neither serious important things, like visa, nor regular schedule like weekly meeting. But for some tiny daily things like key, or unregular schedule as writing blogs, forgetting is often happened.

How to stop forgetting things? This is always a question in my life. Of course, when you learnt lessons on the same stone for several times, you can always remember it. But preventing requires more.

1.  People easily keep in mind serious important thing as tagging it with higher priority. For this kind of thing, taking it seriously and carefully is a matter of course and going without saying. And regular schedule is the same. Rare people forget a thing if it happens quite often and time after time.

2. For other less important things, don’t think them as little dolls and just give a glance. Two reasons. First, small things sometimes are also key steps in your life, if you always ignore them, they will kick you back at a very critical or urgent time. For example, you always forget your keys and don’t take it seriously. Someday you need join a formal banquet at night and going home to change your new shining suit, but you stand outdoor for looking keys and finally miss the coming event, and also miss a potential big deal which will 90% happen in the event. What a pity 🙁 残念!

Secondly, small things make you more nicer. Like you handle everything so well that you may get more chances in your life or work. Like you can remember something which is always forgot by others but also a nice thing for others, you might get more friends.

Conclusion after the large rambling talk, is that, getting a good life habits is very helpful. Some small tips to help you.

1. Before going out from home, think you forget things or not, especially something which will affect you very much that day.

2. Count how many things you need do that day. Just remember the number. When new things come, add one. And count them again before work off.

3. Before leaving a place, check again whether you left your belongings there: table, chair, sofa, ground.

4. Make a list which you often forget. If physical things, find a special and fix place to keep it, like your key, always hang it behind the door, and when going out always take it with you. If virtual things, like doing something not quite often or not quite serious, keep in mind when it comes. If you really hard to remember it, add it as a reminding clock/calendar. Don’t forget your close family’s or friends’ birthday. Give them a surprise, a call, or a message.

Anyway, forgetting is always and usually not a nice habit. Stop it, if you want to get more bright life.;D
