On February 24, 2022, Russia launched an invasion of its neighboring country Ukraine. It is an illegal and barbaric attack that many countries have criticized. The Russian attacks are horrific and have caused immense suffering, fear, and heartbreak. As the invasion unfolds, the scope of human suffering and loss expands. The people of Ukraine have united in their fight against the common enemy. Governments, organizations, and volunteers are working tirelessly to help.

How you can help

First of all, you can help by spreading the word about the conflict. Read reliable and independent sources of information. Tell your friends and followers on social media, use #StandWithUkraine to support Ukraine. Contact your local representatives, non-profits, and organizations to talk about possible ways to help Ukraine.

You can help financially. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy launched the initiative United24 as the main venue for collecting charitable donations in support of Ukraine. Funds will be transferred to the official accounts of the National Bank of Ukraine and allocated by assigned ministries to cover the most pressing needs.

If you want to help a particular organization that is working hard to protect and support Ukraine, consider a donation to one of these organizations.

Humanitarian aid

Many cities in Ukraine are affected by the war, and people who stayed in Ukraine were cut off from basic necessities. Here is a list of humanitarian activities and volunteer groups that are working to help Ukrainians inside and outside of Ukraine.

• Donate through the International Rescue Committee
• Donate to the UN Refugee Agency for Ukraine
• Donate to Nova Ukraine, a non-profit, providing humanitarian aid in Ukraine
• Donate to the humanitarian assistance account by the National Bank of Ukraine

Medical support

Since the war started many people have been cut off from basic medical care. Consider a donation to Doctors Without Borders.

Accommodation

Over 3 million refugees have fled Ukraine since the Russian invasion on 24 February 2022. But many people stayed in the country and moved to a different city because their houses were destroyed.
